ABOUT KMN

I love all the fine arts. I have made a living by performing theatre in NYC & by singing in the NY Grand Opera. I’ve done voice overs and sang the opening scene of Godfather III. Prior to moving to TX, I taught Choir for 7 years at Paraclete HS in CA, and created the ceramic department & taught at W.T. White H.S. in Dallas ISD for 5 years prior to opening Eaton HS in 2015 where I serve as the Visual Art Team Lead and advanced 3-D educator near Fort Worth, TX.

THE STORY

When I was very young, an art teacher laughed at my project and informed me that I would certainly never, ever be an artist. My spirit was crushed and I would not participate in any hands-on arts for many years. Much later in life, while raising my three sons, I discovered a real love for painting, ceramics, and all sorts of art. My youngest son wanted to learn pottery so I took a class with him at the local college with Rich Sim.  After much training, contemplation, and encouragement from many wonderful artists, teachers, 3 sons, and husband since May 1986, I can confidently say that my dream is finally being realized by teaching art to Eaton high school students.  My next chapter will include throwing workshops and giving private lessons – I can’t wait!

“Art education should inspire all students to a life-long yearning to learn about the world, be a medium for self discovery, and support the creation of unique styles of personal expression.”
